What I’m Up To

Rey's ready for Nationals. Tonight I took poor, poor Rey over to my secret spy hill.  And just put it to him.  Starts with a combo of Over/Unders.  And to close it down some hill repeats, and starting on a hill.  Let's work on that still. When you're racing next week, I want to ask yourself, "is this more painful than an asp bite?"  If it isn't push harder.

Things are beginning to wind down here at the Nance house.  I actually slept in until 8 this morning; I know, I know, crazy.  I bet that's why I am still up trying to get some more work done. My 2.5 hour ride turned into 2 hours and 50 minutes.  I did my sprints.  After that, it was super slow.  I was slow.  I was so slow at the end I ran into a buddy of mine who was out for a 12 mile ride, yeah, he's coming back from what

Just got done with sprints.  That was totally awesome.  My first official workout with intensity post jaw break.  Going to swim later, let's see the workout:  I'm going to try to do the full 3k.  Ouch!  I will stop at 2.5 if I have to.  I only got in 2k the other day, so that will be well, an increase that I generally wouldn't recommend my athletes to do.  I'm going to give it my all and see what I have.  So a minimum 2.5, which is my largest swim

Of course, multi tasking.  Looking over Kat's Xterra 12 week program she won being the South Cup Champion.  Yes, the South Cup Champion.  There are definitely some flaws to this.  Primarily no rest weeks.  And with life there's truly few people who have 14 hours to train.  I've gotta figure out who this guy is.  It's a nice program, and you will get faster.  His rest weeks are full of intensity.  It's half the training, I just don't think his cookie cutter program fits all.  That's the trouble with some

Hey, went mountain biking yesterday.  I know, I know, I'm not supposed to go for at least another 3 weeks.  Slow down, I took my baby monkey over to L.B. Houston in Irving yesterday while my oldest little monkey was swimming. She was a little freaked out at first, her first time, for the most part on single track.  She was doing great, putting her feet down when she felt she needed to.  Well, until we saw a 3 foot snake.  She totally freaked, stopped, dead even with the snake, and

Today, I got out of the car to run at the trail, started walking, and figured out.   I am just too tired for this.  Got back in my car and went to my surgery appointment.  I had a great conversation with the Superintendent of Argyle Schools.  We'll see if we get some action jackson, or just lull. So why the heck am I so tired.  Well, went to Master's Swim yesterday with Coach Tom Radam, the best swim coach in the whole world, Irving Swimmers/Irving Masters/Fountain of Youth Masters.  And well,

And yes, it's 10:40 PM.    If you know me, really know me, you know that it is approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes past my bedtime.  I'm on a roll.  I'm rolling in a lot of stuff right now.  I am a balancing machine.  And I'm not just talking about Ball Class. I have been off "afternoon crack" for wow, almost 2 weeks.  And I also recognized that I not only have everything I WANT to do but it should be in my best interest to pay the bills, considering it's

I won my fist race yesterday, 25 tongue depressors vertically in my mouth.  I am really happy about my performance.  Some days were harder than others.  You know how it is, you want to get to the finish line.  I wanted to shove all 25 tongue depressors in my mouth at one time.  I started 10 days ago with 5.  One tongue depressor at a time, or two or three. I'm involved with another race; that is the race to secure our property values and to ensure the quality of air
