March 2010

That would be my first ever.  It was an interesting morning.  Getting no sleep, My monkey had fever bad enough that I had to medicate during the night.  She was barfing all day on Friday.  The dogs were up twice, making for a 4 x interruptions.  The wind was so strong, that also woke me up a couple of times.  It was so loud it reminded me of sleeping in  the back of my truck.  Although my alarm was set for 3 something  I didn't hear it until after 4

I have the head cold from hell.  Yesterday I was incapacitated completely.  Today, I am at least sitting at the computer.  That's a start.  I am hoping to at least get some of my chores done. The irony of it.  I thought I was having a little reaction to all the pollen, which I don't have allergies, but figured that's what it could be; so I kept trudging a long.  Until yesterday, 'BOOM"!!  That's when I knew.  Of course, it would have to happen after I dropped over 100 bucks for

Transition for Triathlons; Making transition times faster can really make a difference when it comes to your overall placement in a Triathlon. Here are some of my secrets; I like to get to transition set up with plenty of time.  I actually go through transition from coming in from the swim to exiting on the run.  I walk through it, visualize it and look for all the cues of where my transition spot is.  I go through it several times before heading to the swim. don't dry off don't wear gloves or socks; train

Time keeps on slipping into the future. Yesterday was my first brick workout of the season.  Had a little rendezvous with the purple couch.  My ride was slow.  It was off road on my SS, with my fork was bottoming out.  Will touch on more of this later.  The trail was wet in places, I had to walk quite a bit; between mechanicals, mud, and SS.  After 45 minutes I did some drills worked on some wheelies,  lifting the front end up, figure 8's and how low can I go.  Grabbed

What a weekend.  All skills.  Mike Heitz of the USA National Junior Team came down to Texas all the way from Colorado to inspire 11 of us from all over the country. He taught us skills, he taught us how to lead skill clinics.  It was awesome.  And, of course, I asked him about coming down for a mountain biking skills clinic.  He said he would love to, but his last helper knew all the in's and out's of mountain biking but wasn't much of a teacher.  This guy is

I can't give away any of my secrets; I did an awesome track workout of my own design. All on  Interval Pace: 4 x 200 2 x 400 1 x 1000 2 x 400 4 x 200 w/u and cool down lap with rest intervals of 200, or 400 for a grand total of 6.75 miles.  Fun, Fun.

It was a long weekend of sitting on my butt.  My least favorite workout of them all.  Sitting on my butt leads me to "sitting on my butt syndrome"a .  The old man is gone, I have no back up and we had a weekend of swim meets.  The good news is he feels guilty, which means I have diligently earned some more kitchen passes.  Arriving home around dinner time I came home to a story of what a great bike ride the old man had, that the re-known Chris

I'm a good girl and it took all of 41 years to figure it out.  That doesn't seem quite right does it.  I have been feeling bad about myself for so long, I have finally recognized that the things that I have done in m life, the choices I have made are all good.  Everything I have ever done has made me who I am today. I haven't always made good decisions, nor do I say that I will ever make a mistake in the future.  The truth of the
