Xterra/Gas/Jaw/Trees/2012

Of course, multi tasking.  Looking over Kat’s Xterra 12 week program she won being the South Cup Champion.  Yes, the South Cup Champion.  There are definitely some flaws to this.  Primarily no rest weeks.  And with life there’s truly few people who have 14 hours to train.  I’ve gotta figure out who this guy is.  It’s a nice program, and you will get faster.  His rest weeks are full of intensity.  It’s half the training, I just don’t think his cookie cutter program fits all.  That’s the trouble with some program design.  I see the method.  He seems to be a successful athlete, he has several coaches working below him.  I did notice one commonality.  There doesn’t seem to be a list of education, and qualifications.  Other than racing, and working with someone, and a mention of some ex phys course work.  Everyone has different objectives to training.  There is never a wrong way to workout.  The idea is to maximize results.  Not everyone is a professional triathlete, or biker.

Went for a 2 hour easy ride today, hard to notice all the raping and pillaging of the country side.    It used to be so beautiful where I live, now it’s gravel roads, gas pits, sound barriers, ruined roads, gas drills.  It’s kinda ugly.  Great way to ruin America.  I like what www.txsharon.blogspot.com says.  If only I were president.  I know it must be a tough job.  Not everybody is going to like me, and some people will really hate me, but there’s some stuff that just needs to go bye bye.  Like motorized sports, plastic, fast food, and conventional farming.

The jaw has hurt like hell this week.  The last couple of days it’s been good, I missed a day of workouts because of it.  I’m not dead, just sidelined.

I’ve been working my butt off in the yard.  See look

Did you see it?

I didn’t think so, that’s because I don’t have one.  I am doing my best to transplant Vitex trees.  They seed all over the place.   They’re beautiful.  They call them the Texas Lilac.  And I love lilacs.  Regular lilacs, the Texas Lilac’s will have to do in the mean time.  I hope they make it.  I hope they  make the transplant.  It’s a horrible time to plant trees.  I do it with so much love, I’m sure they will live.

Yesterday I went for a 40 minute trail run in my vibram 5 fingers.  Unlike last weekend, this weekend, I actually felt the minor legs of my lower leg ‘over’ working while I was running.  :o) And, of course, when I got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, I hobbled like I was 105 years old.

I got 3 great days of swimming in, 3 great days of running in and 2 great days of biking in.  All in all a great week.

Next week, I head to Corpus Christi, the monkeys have a swim meet.  My oldest little monkey brought home 4 ribbons from the last meet.  1st place 100 breast, 2nd place 50 breast, 3rd place 100 freestyle, 8th place 100 IM.  Amazing.  I wonder if that little monkey would like to race for Team Zoefitness.

I’ve gotta get to the mountains.  I’ve got to be a vagabond for a bit, 3 dogs and two monkeys in tow.

There’s something really weird going on with the air, and the clouds and the weather, it’s an energy I’ve never felt before.  I can’t help but wonder what the h.e. double l is going on, and is going to happen.  It just doesn’t seem right.
