What I’m Up To

I parked at the gate over off of Simmons Rd.  I thought, oh, it should take me an hour to run to Rockledge Park and back.  I got to the turn around in 45 and a massive fall that dumbfounded me and had me laughing at myself, "why do I take my mind off this?" Remember I  sounded like a sailor. I met Daniel out there, I encouraged him to race a DORBA beginner race. I was planning on running for 90 minutes + or - 15.  I planned for an hour and

Kidneys are aching so bad, I opted out of my 24 mile run until I can get into the DR.  I am hoping to make it through the weekend without keeling over.  The last time my kidneys ached I went to the ER.  I can't remember if I had a UTI or a kidney infection.  Regardless, I have to make sure it's not touluene or tetrachloride related.  I had no fever so I went out for a bike ride.  In the fancy new kit.  It is awesome!  I should get

Knob Hill, not so high on the list any more. I went for a quick ride there.  Glad I didn't have much time because I didn't have much juice either.  It was perfect really. That trail just hasn't been the same since the '07 floods.  It's a crying shame really.  Saw a couple of Organ Donors out there without their helmets. Yesterday I failed the stair test at Larry North so that's always a mandatory day off.  I do wish I would have had time to swim today.  I'm jones-ing for the pool. I

And I don't think it's the air quality.  At least, I'm not sure. It should be that I wake up and run 1.5 to 2 hours around the neighborhood, and then, take a shower at my own beautiful home.  Instead I recognized on my walk, it would be in my best interest to go somewhere else to run for cleaner air, and fresh water to bath in. Never take for granted the small things in life that you have, or we have. I left town at 7:45 and headed to the trail for

Loved it, great weather. Winner Male Solo 12 mile swim 4 hours. My team: 5:49 minutes. We're all pretty good swimmers, 30 minutes or less per mile.  I generally place top third overall for the swim lag of a Tri.  Today was almost good enough for last. Two of our members were at a 12 beer handicap.  We could have probably beat our friendly rivalry we had going if we didn't have that handicap.  I'm not sure I agree that was appropriate behavior, I actually thought it wasn't thoughtful of the other 4 of

Let me count the ways. I have a new drill for mountain biking.  Coasting,  ride without pedaling only using your body to manuveur the bike.  Pedal as little as possible, practice turning through the apex, so don't be surprised if you see this on your workouts or in a tip of the day. I'm getting better and better at handling the bike and for that I am grateful. Today after work, I went for therapy at Horseshoe.  Nothing dramatic, just a once around, thought it would be an hour, not even close.  So

I went to big Baylor this morning.  I've had two days off since my big run, and I have ants in my pants.  Any more than a day, and I start getting a little restless. So, my jaw bone is 6 mm off my joint, so what we are planning on doing is making a incision along my ear, the part of cartilage that kind of covers the ear opening, then we're going to clean up the soft tissue that is forming at the joint, then we're going to make a

I would like to say I'm on my way to do the best swim of my life.  The truth is I'm tired.  This morning came at 4:00 and after long hours of not being able to fall asleep, a 3:30 hour run, and soccer practice, I think, my best option is to take today off. I'll go the store, get some stuff that I need, call the Environmental DR, go to another store, that's the way a GF Organic Food consumer rolls. I go to the NEW and IMPROVED jaw surgeon tomorrow.
