I Really Questioned my Sanity
With my run this morning, especially when I saw bear tracks about 20 minutes in. They looked to belong to a bear 60 to 80 pounds in size. I would rather meet a black bear than a Verile hog, any day. I'm glad I stayed out there, and yes, even got hot. 55 mph wind gusts, snow, 41 degrees. It was slow, but I ran the whole trail, about 13 miles. Total time 2:15 I didn't care how slow I was, I was just glad to be out there, and I'm even more glad that
Great Week!! Disclaimer: You Can’t Hold Anything Against Me because It’s Past my Bedtime.
This week was an absolute great week. A lot of different things happened. I had to learn how to deal without riding or swimming. That is always an interesting dynamic. I even explained to Rey about learning to love road cycling: sometimes we have to learn how to love what we hate because sometimes the things that we love are taken away from us. We have to learn how to channel that passion for mountain biking into another avenue. And I'm so proud, he went out and had a great road ride. Find
Friday Therapy: Meet my Therapists Sigmund and Freud
Almost bailed. I'm so tired. I XC skied yesterday, and although I xc skied last year on my birthday (not really skiing more like carrying really heavy wet snow on my long platform shoes on the horse trails). Other than that, I XC skied a few times in Winona, once in Big Sky, but haven't REALLY been skiing since I was a teenager. Every time I have skied, it's been flat. Yesterday my friend Rose took me up to Ellis Trailhead and we skied up to the Crest. First time XC Skiing
What does Caveman say, “Keep on, Keeping on”?
A lot of other people say it too, it's a song, and such. But I can't help but think that sums it up. It's a lonely road right now, A Very Lonely Road A very lonely road that weeps of sorrow. If there was one person in the world, just one, that was going through what I was going through, or had a small incline of what I've been going through. I once wrote an article: per my Team Captain: Jay Ellis "The Trials and Tribulations of an Endurance Athlete". This was a race review of my experiences in Maui at
Big Week: Finally completed the 100 up challenge
100 Up Challenge Sprints I'm up to about 6 x 100, with the Mojo in a run. It's not easy to get a fat chocolate lab to run!! Completed! First Road ride since becoming to sick to ride the road in Texas. That was refreshing, but not enough work. Not enough, at all. 2 days off: 1)work 2) too busy, yuck. Can't wait to ride today with my friend Jen: 3 hours Zone 1-2 with a 30 minute Tempo. Hopefully that's a hill. One of my favorite races was this weekend: Comfort. Connie showed up in style. Isn't
Things are not always as they seem
Monday: cold, kinda rainy, beat tired from Puzzler, movies and snuggling on the couch with the monkeys with many naps. Tuesday: Cranky, feeling over trained, thought for sure I would be in the pool for a light swim, as snappy as I am, better rest. Otherwise, my poor children
P.S. USA Cycling…I’m not 43!!
Not yet, anyways. This is the time of year, I hate, when I have to tell people I'm a year older than I really am. I know, I know
I’ve been so excited, I can hardly contain myself
It was tough to co-ordinate. Even though, I've known which two of the TMBRA Marathon Races I've been wanting to do for 6 months, I wasn't sure how I would be juggling all of life's curve balls. I wasn't sure if I would get another long ride in. I was able to make that happen last Thursday. I got in 5 hours and some 75 miles last week, on the road. About 3000 feet of climbing. It's hard to remember the last time I road that long, on the road. Then, I had to
The Daily Grind
5 am was HARD! I took the youngest monkey to school. Got to the Post Office and Tweeted: "Sometimes coffee just isn't enough" The Post Office line that took almost an hour. Then, I took the oldest monkey up to Sandia, 45 in the parking lot. Snow was still nice! Great Day Alpine Skiing! She shredded, I couldn't lift my legs between the 6 mile run in my Toe Shoes (remember: Muscle Memory does not work for Toe Shoes) and being more than half way to the "Exercise Guaranteed to Improve Your Running" Check in tomorrow,
Happy New Year!! Welcome 2012!! I Embrace You!
I thought I wanted to do a 'year in review', until I began reading my blogs from last year: This is from: January 2011: " I fell to the ground twice on my morning walk in tears because I was so dizzy, and nauseated, and my brain had burn. That’s pretty normal for around these parts, for me anymore. My lung capacity was awful." February 2011 "As many of my internet readers and friends know, I have been sick beginning May 12th and something to do with the Gas Drilling has been making me sick. A
