Today is Tuesday, Argh, It feels like Monday!
Maybe that's a good thing, I'm not sure. Dropping Ken off at the airport is always a bitter sweet moment. Yesterday was a great day, until about 2.5 hours into our ride in to Jemez Dam. Here's the route with elevation gain, just figured it was about 55 miles. http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/51344180 I had to bail. You know that toe I broke? Well, it didn't give me any trouble but now: That was 8.25
Hydration
Nothing says it better or more clear: "Staying hydrated is the cheapest, easiest, and most effective way to power performance."

It's hard to talk about my detox, or my life in general right now outside of my athletics and my clients. Today I ran an hour with the dogs, this is a relaxed run, I worked primarily on cadence. For some reason my cadence has dropped. Which is weird because 180 rpms feels so natural and good. The dogs are getting in better shape. Mojo made the mistake of taking off and running with an Ironman
Day IV of Detox
Other than detox it's been a great week! Yesterday did an awesome recovery ride down at the Bosque, it was weird doing a 'group ride' on a bike trail, but it was perfect practice. It has been a long time since riding in a group. Group Rides stopped in North Texas when I could no longer ride my bike on the road. I dropped back a couple of times due to nerves and then, just put some weight into the peddles to catch back up. Just giving myself a little bit
Riding Switchbacks
Your Line Is Everything – The line you pick to go through the turn will determine your outcome. The video below will show you how to chose that line, but also look for any rocks or roots that are looking to kick you off of that line. There is a preferred method of attacking switchbacks, but if that line is covered up with harder terrain…you might have to improvise. * Keep Your Balance – This is one of those situations where practicing your trackstanding really pays off. Typically (especially when riding
The Desert Awakens
Today is my official day off of exercise. I will probably lift weights. My arms are getting flabby and I can't have that. Yesterday I went for a 1 hour trail run with the tail wagger and the nub wagger. The tail wagger was having a tough time about 50 minutes into it, so instead of re-living the Norwegian Elkhound heatstroke, total blood transfusion, carry off trail, we took it EZ for the last mile-ish. Mojo's got to get in better shape. He's too heavy to carry off the trail
ZoeFitness = Life Fitness
Zoe Means Life. ZoeFitness is Fitness for Life. Fitness is more than just waking up one day and deciding you "want to lose, 20, 40, or 100 pounds". It's about making healthier choices for LIFE. Take more steps each day; walking to the mailbox, parking further away from the door, taking your dogs, kids, and you out for an evening walk. It's about turning the television off more, it's about having 'dedicated' time for the computer. It's about making one healthier choice in your meal plan today. And tomorrow you notice you're feeling better, so you do a little bit more
A Nice Long Week
It was, of course, a good week. All weeks are good, when we choose them. It was a long week. Time is never going back, and yesterday, my youngest monkey turned the clocks into double digits. Both are turning into lovely women. I may or may not be prepared for it. I've heard drinking helps. I think, the alternative will help too, ultra endurance exercise. For Me and for THEM. I always prefer the later. It was a marathon type of week. With Elle Belle's birthday. Ken's here, and that is awesome! He pulled in around 11 pm
