Big Changes for 2013
As always, just as I am excited to bring in a new day, it's equally exciting, if not more exciting, to bring in a New Year. I hope everyone's Christmas Holiday was awesome, that you had a Happy Hannukkah, and are bringing in a Happy Kwanzaa. Whatever you celebrate I send you blessing and best wishes. The road that I have traveled over the last few weeks has been an interesting one. One that has been deep in meditation, thought, and perspective; as I think about what it is I want in my personal life
This Winter Re-Define the Hour of Power
Quite the Adventure this morning on my bike ride; As you can see. Rolling, Rolling, Rolling!
Today I am not listening to my Coach
I am choosing to be a hard headed athlete. Sometimes the mental benefit outweighs the physical rational self. And for that I say, I can always take tomorrow OFF. But Today, I listen to my soul.
The Truth; Sometimes it’s Ugly, and sometimes it Hurts
The Blog post that just wouldn't come. Sometimes it's writers block or something similar; usually, I have something to say, it's just sometimes: Do I want to say it? How do I want to say it? How will I find the words to properly express myself, make myself heard clearly
TMBRA Marathon Race #1 Palo Duro Canyon; I’ve Been Planning on Going, I didn’t Pre Register because of My Broken Foot:
Got all the training in; My foot started really hurting again on Wednesday. Still planning on going; this was my plan. Ride with Michael Winegar on Friday, decide if I was going to race then. Only because my foot has hurt so bad the last 3 days. I know everything happens for a reason, but it still doesn't mean I'm not totally pissed off, sulking, and having a tough time just letting go. I pick the kiddos up from school
Rides + Adventures =
Happy Fairy Princess. Generally about this time I am suffering from Pre Race Pneumonia. There is no pre race pneumonia, only a broken foot. It's amazing what I have been able to accomplish in the last couple of weeks. Not my favorite way to train, but It Works: Crash Training It works, especially if you already have a strong foundation of fitness. It doesn't always work for everybody, well, I guess it could. It can be painful, It can be boring. It generally is described as a lot of hours training, with a lot of days off. I rode 3 days per week: 9.5
I had so Many Plans this Week
I was planning on hiking up the mountain, Pino Canyon Trail I was planning on riding South 14 I was planning on riding Water Canyon to the Lightening Observatory in Socorro. I, however, was NOT planning on sitting in Ken's recliner for 3 days all jacked up on hydrocodone because that stoopid rock got in the way and I did finally decide to break my foot. It hurts, it's a clean break, through the bone. Not only are potato chips my favorite post race recovery food, it's also my favorite hydrocodone condiment. This week has been
I have Dismembered my Kona
It was kinda sad, it was long over due, that bike won me 3 state Championships and a Leadville 100 Mile Mountain Bike Belt Buckle. So if anyone wants a 18 inch Kona Hei Hei FS frame, I have one. I also have some Mavic SLR wheels, Some Shimano Deore Cranks, but that's about it. What I did get was a totally revamped SS. You know my converted 1999 Specialized Stumpjumper Pro. It got a 'new' locking fork, a brand new set of wheels with DT swiss hubs, and the best part of it, a
In the Olden Days I would have been Pissed, I would have been Angry
And I probably would have harbored a lot of feelings of, "Why me?!?!" I would have felt all of those nasty feelings of being the victim. That's going about it all wrong. I am glad to know that, in life, we all have the ability to grow and mature and become that life spirit that we are all a part of here in Earth School. I have been OFF since last Thursday. Last Wednesday morning while doing my dynamic exercises and running the new puppy, Pepe (Brutus; Bubba the linebacker for LSU) he decided to 'herd'
