And I don't think it's the air quality.  At least, I'm not sure. It should be that I wake up and run 1.5 to 2 hours around the neighborhood, and then, take a shower at my own beautiful home.  Instead I recognized on my walk, it would be in my best interest to go somewhere else to run for cleaner air, and fresh water to bath in. Never take for granted the small things in life that you have, or we have. I left town at 7:45 and headed to the trail for

Loved it, great weather. Winner Male Solo 12 mile swim 4 hours. My team: 5:49 minutes. We're all pretty good swimmers, 30 minutes or less per mile.  I generally place top third overall for the swim lag of a Tri.  Today was almost good enough for last. Two of our members were at a 12 beer handicap.  We could have probably beat our friendly rivalry we had going if we didn't have that handicap.  I'm not sure I agree that was appropriate behavior, I actually thought it wasn't thoughtful of the other 4 of

Let me count the ways. I have a new drill for mountain biking.  Coasting,  ride without pedaling only using your body to manuveur the bike.  Pedal as little as possible, practice turning through the apex, so don't be surprised if you see this on your workouts or in a tip of the day. I'm getting better and better at handling the bike and for that I am grateful. Today after work, I went for therapy at Horseshoe.  Nothing dramatic, just a once around, thought it would be an hour, not even close.  So

Last week was a fairly stressful week, water samples back, we'll leave that for a different kind of race. Work, closing, etc.  I decided on Friday I needed to "escape".  I told my environmental consultant if that didn't work I was going to get drunk.  She thought that was funny.  She also thought the toxins may better help me fight off the other toxins. So I escaped.  I worked and then I ran away to the North to Isle De Bois.  It's the very first ride I have done there since

On the Barnett Shale energy doesn't last forever, because when they finish one job they start a new one.  Or like today, the wind changes directions.  They started a new one too, but hopefully that one is too far away from me. I worked my butt off today.  Got the SRAM proposal in for Team Zoe Fitness.   Still trying to figure out what MBAS is, that's a research process in itself.  I should conduct a research article: Gas Drilling Production and Performance In Endurance Athletes.   Hmm

I got talked into teaching a class today at 10:20, a weight class.  Then, I went to the pool. My warm up 500 was 7:30 and some change.  After 2 hours of working out and going REALLY slow in w/u I"m very excited where this is.  Finally, back to where I was, now it's all about getting faster! woo-hoo.  Swam a 2800. Coincidently, they weren't fracing/drilling anywhere near me.  Hmm, coincidence in my times

5:30 AM I've had two days off, the Jack Russell(Parsons) Terrier, was driving me crazy, so I had a plan this morning.  Take Mojo, Molly and do 2 "Lessley Loops" = (.8 miles x 2).  Drop the dogs off and run a Rolling Acres Loop.     1.6 + 3.5 _____     5.1 miles Actually my math at 4 AM was a little different, but hey, that's 6 hours of sleep.  At any rate, with the dogs being dropped off and one trip to the ground to remind the Parson's Terrier who was boss total time was 44

I went to big Baylor this morning.  I've had two days off since my big run, and I have ants in my pants.  Any more than a day, and I start getting a little restless. So, my jaw bone is 6 mm off my joint, so what we are planning on doing is making a incision along my ear, the part of cartilage that kind of covers the ear opening, then we're going to clean up the soft tissue that is forming at the joint, then we're going to make a
