What I’m Up To: December, Slippin Away
It is very difficult for me to accept it’s already December…It just seems like “Time keeps on Slippin’,slippin’,slippin’ into the future”…Another whole week just disappeared. I think, it’s weird for me because it seems like T-Day was a week later than usual. It’s 9, I’m pretty tired, I had some coffee at 4, not the usual thing but kinda wanted to, mostly decaf. There’s never enough time in the day, especially if you like to sleep. Back in the 80’s making more time in day made for some really bad habits, and I am so over that.
The bridges will probably be frozen over tomorrow morning. I’m glad I don’t work until noon. That is the first time I have ever scheduled my day like that. I’m sure it will be interesting.
The bike was giving me some trouble. I took it to MAT at Bikes Plus, he cleaned out my bottom bracket and took apart the free wheel and today I took it to the trail, in the rain, I was smart, when I went it was barely drizzling. I do have time on my side, not too much, but enough to get 45 minutes in. Rode the last 2 miles, it was AWESOME! I rode up and up and up some shelves that were wet, full of leaves in slicker than snot. Well, there’s nothing slicker than snot in TX, I bet I could ride ‘slicker than snot’ now. That was in Winona, on some of the best trail I have ever ridden. It was sketchy whoop-d-do with a moss wet never get sunshine, iced over rocky log bridge.
At any rate, got some great skills practice. And it was wet, and I love my ADvantage my Maxxis. I don’t usually ride that section but it was absolutely perfect training, I’m feeling strong, and beginning to feel rested.
I saw Coach Tom and Fountain of Youth Master’s yesterday. You should have seen me tearing up the pool. I love reductions in training volume.
Everything is in alignment and other than snow in the forecast this weekend should be cool, literally
