Sunday, oh glorious Sunday
Hey, went mountain biking yesterday. I know, I know, I’m not supposed to go for at least another 3 weeks. Slow down, I took my baby monkey over to L.B. Houston in Irving yesterday while my oldest little monkey was swimming.
She was a little freaked out at first, her first time, for the most part on single track. She was doing great, putting her feet down when she felt she needed to. Well, until we saw a 3 foot snake. She totally freaked, stopped, dead even with the snake, and then made up a new song, ‘until the next emergency exit, the next emergency exit.’ She rode for over 1.5 miles, and then wanted to go back in, until the first emergency exit. She kinda forgot about the snake, kind of. Any time we were by water I said, “ride faster”. She knows Mommy likes to ride faster by the water because of water moccasins. She learned not to stop when she sees a snake. She learned it’s pretty fun back there. I can’t wait for us to go again. That was my first time there, I don’t think I would ever go without my monkeys but it’s fun and a great place to start.
Before taking my monkey to the trail, I swam Master Swim. I am working on increasing my frequency. I know and recognize miracles don’t happen with 1.5 days per week on the bike or in the pool.
I got my wires off on Thursday. Boy, was I a bitch. Glad to have my wires off, but when you read my post from the day before I was kind of sensitive to say the least.
Saturday’s swim was awesome. Their workout was 5 x 800 / 2 swim/2 pull/1 swim with fins = BUILD. I’m not quite there. So I did 5 x 300. I think, it’s hard for everybody to remember, oh yea, she has a broken jaw. Those 50 meters, are crazy. Hurts, more than when I was doing 4k in the pool. I did, or attempted to do, 2 x 50 sprints, Ikers.
Friday: Went to Fountain of Youth Masters. What else did I do, besides fight for my neighbors. Can’t really remember. I remember, I began to scrub my floors.
Thursday didn’t really do jack.
And the rest is history. I’ve got good focus, really trying to finish some stuff off. Gotta get the car into the shop.
Oh did, I mention today I did my first group ride. I rode my longest ride ever since breaking my jaw. 1 hour and 45 minutes. About an hour was with the group. Still using the brakes more than I would like, but less than when I first started riding with the groups. I had 2 winding hills I did hit the brakes on. I had no problem keeping up with them. It was awesome.
1 potato, 2 potato, 3 potato, 4…just change that to banana muffins, GF of course, and that’s about how many homemade muffins I have eaten today. The family better hurry home, or there’s not going to be any left.(and I’m sure I”m going to feel like an old lady tomorrow with all that sugar, which will have my joints inflamed.
Copper River Salmon is fresh right now…go get you some!
