Go Old School: PSI; “it feels right”.
Had an awesome conversation with Thomas Mullins on the trail about tire pressure. He’s so right. It’s just another example of going back to OLD SCHOOL. In the olden days we used to just pump up our tires until they ‘felt’ right. And then, we were good to go. I have been using my tire pressure reader relegiously. Today, I lowered my tire pressure to 32 psi in back 28 up front. Thomas was like ‘no way, there’s over 40 pounds in each one of these. Then, he was explaining all the hooplah about how the psi readers are wrong, and we should just go by ‘feel’. It’s true, they get filled with slime, stans, or just wear and tear. So, I took some air out, until it ‘felt right’ and I was like a billy goat going over everything.
Thank you Thomas!! Great Tip! It takes a community of knowledge to become better.
