Hummed to the Grateful Dead song, "Truckin" I had a skin reaction to anti histamines, not the greatest when dealing with allergies so I found this little thing called 'nettles'.  An herb that grows like crazy along the river beds in Minnesota.  Whisping through the singletrack of Cherry Hill the nettles would brush us.  Most people they would itch, and bleed, me, they would just bug me a little bit. We are stronger than the itch.  Thank God, too, because most days, I feel like I have rolled in poison ivy. I leave

Yesterday it was 3. The marathon of a lifetime, and the hardest run, with the most hurdles, ever. I had a nice 38 minute bike ride at Horseshoe.  One lap.  Slow, TIRED, not powering over ANYthing. Then, headed up FloMo Bikes Plus.  My wheels are in.  Not on, I am having difficulty with a rear tire decision.  Should take 1 pound off. I had Thursday off, Wednesday I ran 2 hours and 4 minutes. I am on schedule for Leadville Marathon. Rey Vera races Rocky Hill tomorrow. Oh, big news, Kyle ultra-marathon runner in San Antonio area

It's been a long time. It's been a long week. I think, like not going to the grocery store when you're hungry, I wonder if blogging while you're: mad, angry, sad and depressed are the right time.  The one thing I do know, and have learned slowly and patiently over the years, is when we have feelings we need to express them. If I have spent this last year bottling up all my feelings, I certainly wouldn't be in as good of a place as I am right now. I have been MIA for

Kathy Hudson won the Gold Medal in Spain at the inaugural ITU cross triathlon.  What a rock star!  She is such an amazing woman: Strong, Smart, Fast, World Champion. Lots of people complain about getting older.. When the entire world can be served to you on a silver platter, if you choose, how can you choose to sit idle? Kathy, first overall in her age group: 45-49, had the fastest amateur time of 40+.  I haven't seen the young chickens times, but I'm pretty sure she may have actually pulled off the fastest

Was a true butt kicker. I spent the weekend a way from the Gas Patch so that my lungs were free of sulfur and that I would be able to perform at the highest level possible. My goal: to qualify for the Xterra Championship and to have FUN!! I love XTERRA, it's the best ever race in the whole wide world.  Why do I love XTERRA so much? I love to swim, I love to mountain bike and I was born to run. I stayed near the Starbuck's in Bellmead.  Woke up at 5 am,
