August 2010

Well, I didn't win, and I didn't lose.  I almost barfed twice.  And I met some great people.  Saw Rod and another old acquaintance Sylvio.   9 miles in 26 something.  That's a good ride considering I rode the Crest yesterday, I'm at altitude, and I ride a 6 year old Klein, with Time Mountain Bike pedals. That's my first race post since breaking my jaw.  I was able to confidently go into aero position on the handlebars.  I was able to ride the hills without braking, and with pedaling strong, in

Never road my road bike up a mountain before, it's something I want to get better at.  I called Justin @ Bikes Plus Flower Mound he recommended a 28 cog in the back.  So off to Coppell I went to get that baby put on before my big adventure.  I have ridden up many mountains in my day.  Never on a skinny tire. It was easy.  I didn't have any trouble at all.  We went 14 miles straight up to 10,800 feet.  Not too high, but that's as high as it

30 minute Run to Starbuck's uphill at 5500 feet. 35oo yard/meter, not sure Swim.  and a weird sunburn.  Note to self remind little monkey to put sunscreen everywhere, and to cake it on. :o) I have so much energy, it's crazy, I feel GREAT

In the olden days we used to just pump up our tires until they 'felt' right. And then, we were good to go. I have been using my tire pressure reader relegiously. Today, I lowered my tire pressure to 32 psi in back 28 up front. Thomas was like 'no way, there's over 40 pounds in each one of these. Then, he was explaining

Hip, hip hurray! It's been a long time, or at least it seems like it.  I've gotten in some great workouts, despite the heat.  I hit FOY Masters on Friday that was a blast.  Backstroke.  Thursday got in strength and a great 1 hour trail run.  I would have liked to go further, the heat actually held me back, I started at noon.  This week was so busy I don't know if I can remember it all.  I know I ran a Jeter Loop, I know I rode my bike, I
