It’s Ti-ime!
Sometimes, I try new things, get involved with other things, generally speaking I like to update my blog once a week. Any more time than that, and I can’t remember.
I am now on Twitter, you too can follow Zoefitness1. I would like to follow you too. I will be working on the whole Twitter/Facebook connection. Please be patient with me. As you are aware of, there are only so many hours in the day. Which, of course, is never enough.
I just learned, I can not eat garlic/onions anymore. That’s depressing, that’s related to the whole gas thing. Unfortunately. I didn’t have enough things I needed to stay away from.
🙂
I ended up 3rd in the State of New Mexico, by default for XC. That’s not bad.
Last weekend I raced a Time Trial. My second one. I got 6th in the series out of 19. I was hoping to take 5 minutes off my time. I only managed 2 minutes. That was kind of a bummer.
I have been recently trying to follow more the:
Paleo Diet for Athletes
vs
The Paleo Diet.
Let me tell you, it didn’t work out too well. I had fruit with me, but I was like, I will try this Brown Rice Syrup before hand.
It didn’t take but about 5 minutes for the Ph level of my muscles to get so high that I could feel the heaviness, the feeling in my legs overpowered my heart rate and ventilation rate. It was a bummer.
But learning is what getting faster is all about.
The best part, besides seeing fellow team mate Kimmie, was the dead cow on the side of the road. Like rigamortus, uck, smelly, that we had to ride right by…Mmm. The last part is sarcasm.
It really was good seeing Kimmie.
This week started off with a bang. On Sunday my training partners and I went up to La Cueva. A lot of things can change in 12 years, they charge there now, and I had no check book. I got a warning.
We hiked for 2 hours.
1.5 hours up and ran down. It is so fun!
Us girls, we like to have fun. It’s a real blast giving the girls the opportunity to experience all of the great things that mean so much to me.
This week, has been all about my time with the girls.
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get anything done on Monday, because we were at the beckoning call of the contractor. You know, “Be there at 9”, call at 9:20 and say, “I will be there in 40 minutes”, and then, show up at 10:20. We’ve all lived it at some time. That falls under the ‘mandatory time off’ category.’
Upon asking, how long will it take, ” a couple of hours”, and then, 4 hours later, it will be 10 more minutes. There’s the whole day…do you hear the toilet flushing?
Tuesday was awesome, we went up to Tramway and rode the bike trail. The girls loved that!! We rode for 1.5 hours, and then, went off road for a bit. The downhill part they loved, one of them tried to complain on the way up…and I said complain, no frappucino’s. And then, everyone’s frown turned upside down.
I will admit, I can’t wait for school to start. The oldest started today: OK, I cried, of course.
At the Academy, they do a convocation on the first day of school where the Seniors walk the 6th graders into the gymnasium and the whole school claps in a standing ovation.
We are really lucky to have one of our best friends daughters a senior at the Academy. Taylor was super excited to walk Sophalapogus in, and Sophrina was really excited to be escorted in by one of her idols.
It’s really the most amazing thing I have ever seen. Or course, they had to do the funny picture. I was joking with the Dean of 6th and 7th grade, that I didn’t want him to call me today to pick up my daughter, you know, for misbehaving. We both enjoyed starting the day off with a good laugh.
It’s crazy, Elle and I only have a couple of hours left of personal time before we go pick her up. Well, and it’s; face time, texting, and telephone…
I’m only the Mom. 🙂
I got to swim yesterday that was FAB-ulous! Was late, I have been trying to get Clif Sponsorship for 3 years, and by some freak accident, when I checked yesterday…they were accepting applications!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow…
Go CLIF!
So I cranked out a 12 50 mostly drills. Great way to start a week after, maintenance week. I kinda hate when the pool is closed for maintenance. Swimming in a dirty pool is worse, so more ‘mandatory time off’ from the pool.
I ran Monday, that was cool. 3 miles, and I didn’t feel like a gimp.
Yea, no pain on my run!!
I’m trying to decide if I’m going to do a sprint tri or a half marathon on September 11th…
Off road half Marathon.
Decisions are tough!
Later, I am going to update my tip. I have 2 really good ones that I have been wanting to put together. I have also been working on a paper on Selenium and Iodine. I have one more proof read, with adding some material from my upper level graduate nutrition class.
It’s amazing how nutrition is tied with everything.
Instead of going to the DR and getting a prescription, we should go to a different kind of DR that knows the biochemistry of the body, and recognize and research the vitamins and minerals that we are either deficient in or have a toxicity of. I can almost guaranty that there is at least 1 nutritional support that we can do. At least one.
I even learned a little bit about nutrition deficiency of glutathione, related to ALS and MS and selenium/iodine deficiency.
Why not try it?!?
We need more people who can fish through all of that and make decisions of medical care based on that.
And what was my point?
At any rate.
The week in Team:
Isn’t that awesome?!? Connie and Thomas weren’t frying here. They were showing their love up in Colorado: Vail/Crested Butte area. Lucky ducks.
I really wanted to come up and cheer them on, with last minute school organizing and ice cream socials, for school, that made a 7 hour drive unimaginable for me. Although, I am sad I didn’t get to see my buddies.
It’s almost as close as going to TX.
Which we will be in October.
Hopefully the sky won’t open up!!
You know what I am talking about!!
That would be just my luck.
The most exciting work/Team thing that happened, happened yesterday after, 4 months of waiting:
It may have been easier to just order visors with logos. I’m old school, I wanted to use our sponsor, and have the visors embroidered.
I think they turned out nice.
I’m pretty excited about finally to be able to catch up on the responsibility of doing, what I said I was going to do when the visors came in. The visors ended up being a wee bit like the garage door. It saved me over 100 bucks, being patient, and shipping and I feel that was very thoughtful. So tomorrow and Saturday I will be very busy overcoming, like the wind, my shipping habits of shipping items. I continue to work on improving. I need a lot of improvement there.
I am known with my family to have all my Christmas presents bought by fall. Some years, they don’t get shipped til after the New Year. Hmm…where’s the sense in that? Beating the holiday rush, I suppose.
I don’t have a lot on the agenda for the weekend. Another school function, still trying to get shoes for my littlest monkey. We love our crocs, anything else, is “uncomfortable”. This makes finding a shoe with a wide toe box and a narrow heal, impossible. And she, WILL NOT cram her feet into a shoe!
Weird, but good for her feet and the muscles of the lower leg.
Now that I have blogged your eyes out.
My favorite quote for the week came from Albuquerque Center for Spiritual Living:
It’s not what shows up in our lives that counts.
It’s HOW we show up in life that counts.
