Coach Zoe Pre-Riding with Client in the Franklin Mountains

The weather in Albuquerque this year has been more winter than I have every known. We’ve been travelling to get dirt. One weekend, we went to Palo Duro Canyon, where Marathon National Championships will be the next two years, and the following weekend, we headed over to the Franklin Mountains. This weekend is the El Paso Puzzler. 2019 is about the Short, and the Fast. I will use that term fast, loosely, as there will always be someone faster than me, and slower than me. 2019 is about my short game, and getting as fast as I am able in the time that I have.

I’m very excited about racing in the Franklin Mountains. The majority of the course is very technical. Technical is not my strongest suit. I’m more suited for Palo Duro Canyon trails. However, it’s important that we challenge ourselves, and embrace the things we deem as hard. Challenging ourselves, in our athletics as well as our daily lives, is what makes us successful. Gives us the ability to adapt and grow, and become the best version of ourselves.

Featured here in the Franklin Mountains: Maxxis Ardent Race, ESI Grips, my sweet bike brought to me by Madduck Cyclery, and my nutrition through Salt Stick, Metabolic Efficiency and eNRG Performance.

I am so grateful for 2019 and Zoefitness Partners:

ESI GRIPS

The best grips for your road and mountain bikes, and silicon tape to keep your bike safe from scratches.

Rudy Project

Best Eye wear and Helmets on the Market

Madduck Cyclery

Boutique Bike Shop in Dallas, best customer service, and bike selection!

eNRG Performance

Nutrition Periodization concepts, and Metabolic Efficiency

Maxxis Tires

Road, OFF Road, Car, or Truck. Hands down the best rubber out there.

Fit to Win Cycling

Do you want to buy a bike, and make it fit, or buy a bike that fits. Trust our partners right here in Albuquerque, New Mexico, find the bike that fits.

Speegle Sport and Spine

Keeps me up and running. Dr Speegle knows his stuff, and practices the best modalities available. I do NOT trust my body to everyone, Dr Speegle, he’s the guy, so whether or not you’re fixing an owie, or doing preventative care, call Dr Speegle.

Salt Stick Tab

Salt Stick Tabs are the best electrolyte out there. I use the ones in the blue bottle. And the ones with the green label when I need a little energy boost. Whether I’m in the pool, running, or riding, I trust my electrolyte balance to the best.

Zia Rides

Fun times on bikes. Zia Rides, has one of the most comprehensive race series out there. From Half Marathon Trail runs, they have 6, 12, and 24 hour races. Races in Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. They’re the ones you want to race with.

2019 is all about upping my short game. I have gotten so good at the long stuff. My goals are different this year. I am very excited about it.

For my 50th, thanks to a dear friends idea, I decided I wanted to go back to Xterra World Championship. I came off a too slow of a Breck 100, into a croc run at 10k, to 6 weeks later, pre-riding the Ogden Course, which is the National/Pan Am Championships. I did NOT have the best performance, as I received a bee sting on my rear end where my hamstring and glute come together, 5 miles into the bike. And although, my bike performance was only mildly affected, I could not extend my leg on the run. I did not expect any miracles in performance, I had only trained 4 weeks, I did however, expect to finish, run 12 minute miles, and take the knowledge back for this upcoming year.

I am so grateful for my sponsors, it’s because of them, I am able to sponsor local events. Coach Zoe taking recognition for sponsoring Zia Rides 1st Half Trail Marathon
2 weeks after Xterra National Championships, I am out running my 1st Half Marathon in years. Not my fastest, probably my funnest. Thank you Zia!

I know, if you’ve known me for years, you have watched my athletic endeavors now officially come full circle. Zia Rides Albuquerque Dirt Festival was my 2nd FAST  post Ultra-endurance mountain biking. It’s U.G.L.Y:

So grateful for my Partners, and My Knowledge ; it is these things that truly allow me to be successful in my professional and athletic accomplishments.

There are a lot of Triathlons, and Xterra’s on my schedule this year. I will be doing running races, Open Water Swims, and XC Mountain Bike Races. This year at the El Paso Puzzler, I am only doing the 35. As FAST as I am ABLE. I have 3 goals:

  1. Have Fun
  2. No Copter Rides
  3. Don’t ruin my season.

I’m most looking forward to seeing my friends, my El Paso Peeps, my Dallas Peeps, a few of my clients, and hopefully meeting a few more.

I appreciate you checking in, and seeing what I am to. One of my goals is to be updating my site more. So please keep checking back.

Here is to the most AWEsomeEST of years, 2019:

As I always say:

Be Your Ultimate Potential.
