Wow’sers, what a week!

A great week of training, a great week of car shopping, a great week of support from all my contacts on FB(Facebook).  Yesterday was my birthday and it was a great day.

There was one sad part, maybe two(but the one thing is gas related so we don’t talk about that here, they’re doing a 24 hour a day frac job .5 miles from my home, oops, slip)

All the trails were closed and I couldn’t do my birthday, Friday Therapy Ride.  Now that’s tough!  Everything else was DI-vine!

I know it will be tough to believe, I finally bought a new car last night.

It’s so sad, I love my Big Gold Truck,

so much, it was very hard to downsize.

Next time you see me, I will be driving, a not so Big Gold Truck.  I bought a GMC Acadia.  Or shall I say, Ken bought me a GMC Acadia, for my birthday.

Mostly because with a 170,000 + miles on the Big Gold Truck, love of my life, I was going to eventually have to say good bye to it.  We are actually keeping it for NM, temporarily we would keep it there permanently but we don’t think it will fit in the garage.  It probably will, with the bike racks off, the mirrors folded in, and with everybody coming out of the rear gate.

Yesterday swam with Flower Mound Masters(used to be Fountain of Youth) with Coach Tom Radam and had a PR on my 100 swim with fins. 1:10.  Having only been in the pool twice in the last 4 weeks, that felt pretty darn good to pull off.  I was oh so very happy to have a cancellation so that I could.  2 years ago, on my birthday, by good friend Kathy, owner of Terra Firma Racing and I went to the CAC to do my birthday workout, that’s when we met Tom and we both have been swimming with him since.  She has been more consistently swimming with him then with me.  I do my workouts on the ‘fly’ at Grapevine-Colleyville pool, or at Northlake College while the girls are swimming.

Part of the reason I get faster, without giving away all my secrets, is I work on a lot of drills when I’m not with the group.  Also, I am better able to ‘fine tune’ my workouts based on my racing, and training to disable me from overtraining.

I hope today that I get to do my birthday ride, tomorrow I want to run with my dear friend Runner Susan, who I do her backbone programming for her races.  She has a very long painful run tomorrow, to get her ready for the Fort Worth Marathon, ouch.  But a long run, outside of the gas patch, would really clear me out.

I feel as if I am finally out of recovery!  My run felt ‘normal’, my swims were great, my interval session on the rollers went great.   I feel like, my HR is finally coming out of 105 bpm without feeling like I am dying.

Finally recovered.

Next Friday will be 8 weeks post jaw surgery.

I am hoping to do the 6 hour at IDB, which of course, will be on SS since I am having tons of problems with my Kona.

I wonder what I can do to make that thing lighter?

At least SS will keep me out of trouble!

I am really hoping to get up there this week, actually yesterday, but it is what it is, snow, ice, freezing temps(OK, you’re right, those don’t usually slow me down.)  Snow and Ice, and well, the trail is CLOSED, like all trails around town right now.

Brain Fry.

Snacking on my eggs, going to go out and brave the high level of VOC’s for my morning meditation walk.

This morning, even though I have the day ‘OFF’ I was up before the roosters.  I was asleep with Hulu on my lap at 9PM last night.  That’s probably why.

I hope everyone has seen all the Good that was brought to them this week, and that the Joy of the Universe kept you rolling with Peace in your Heart.
