Sugar, Forks and Bricks
Time keeps on slipping into the future.
Yesterday was my first brick workout of the season. Had a little rendezvous with the purple couch. My ride was slow. It was off road on my SS, with my fork was bottoming out. Will touch on more of this later. The trail was wet in places, I had to walk quite a bit; between mechanicals, mud, and SS. After 45 minutes I did some drills worked on some wheelies, lifting the front end up, figure 8’s and how low can I go. Grabbed the Kona rode a little bit more and then grabbed my running shoes. Another damper on my ride was my Mg levels were low. Man, it’s been a long time but I do not like that feeling, it leads to one thing with me, exercise induced tachycardia. I pretty much always pack Mg since I figured out the correlation, so it didn’t effect my run too much.
Man, my run portion was slow. I think, I was running at an RPE of 4-5. About 9 minute miles, so yes, a little disappointment. I had in me to run a negative split, so 10 minutes came off the back half. I came back on the road, which I usually try to do so I can run barefoot, so that includes taking the shoes off.
I’ve had my specialized for 8-10 years, yesterday was my first day that I knew I could put air in the shock. The first day! Bicycles Plus rebuilt it, it was bottoming out so I went in. I thought that shock was one with those polymer sponge thingies in it. WOW! We had a good laugh!!
Sugar, I have been on a sugar binge for 3 days now. I am so sore all over my body I feel like I am 85 years old. Thank God the kosher marsh mellows are gone! I can only eat the kosher passover marsh mellows. They contain no gluten, so every year I buy a couple of bags. They are really tasty, not so good on the inflammation in the joints! I wish the ‘candyman’ who plays for the Lakers figured that out.
I’m really looking forward to go to Bar-H on Sunday. Gonna have to get my work done before then. All work and no play makes me a dull girl, isn’t that far from the truth!
Tonight is the Black Eyed Peas concert. It’s been a long time. I don’t think we’ve been to a show since we left MN. The girls are coming it should be fun! I’m wondering what I’ll say when the girls ask; “Mommy why does that smoke smell funny?”
I’m almost over the last gluten intoxication. This one was rough. It’s tough to say ‘no’ to Ken and the girls about meeting them at dinner when I’ve been in meetings all day. Even though I know it is going to make me sicker than a dog, my hair is going to fall out, I could have an episode of supraventicular tachycardia, my immune system is going to be taxed, my gums are going to recede. We had steaks another night, at Texas Road House, that was the real stickler. That place is highly toxic to the GF people. I’m glad to be almost better. Just have to take some probiotics, some vitamin A, C, E and yes, probably some more Mg.
