Dear God, I have the Cough, but Not the Fever
Sunday,
Monday,
Tuesday,
Wednesday,
My oldest monkey has been home sick with cough and fever. We’re talking 103.5 on more than one occasion.
Hence, there must be a “Big” Race I am getting ready for.
HAHA
As a coach and an athlete, I know that every 3 to 5 years you need to have an easy year.
But two, seriously.
I guess, running 50 miles last summer doesn’t make it an easy year, but Geez, everything afterwards has been a complete failure.
Keep on Keeping On.
My Goal for El Paso Puzzler, I’m not signed up: 15 miles, 35 miles or 50 miles. No Big Commitments, because I don’t want to be disappointed.
Last year I did the 50k, on Single Speed to prep for my Leadville Run.

The time before that was 2010, I rode a 7:57 and I had gotten bit by a 5-6 foot pit viper.

There was definitely some slow down because of that. In 2010 I was on my 26’er full suspension, last year, I did the 50k, on my 29’er and my SS converter kit was loose, for most of the ride, so well…good thing I was “running” most of it anyways.
I have been looking forward to this ride for a very long time.
Why do I love it so much:
Mile 9.5, HAHA.
I mean, really, why do something that isn’t going to make you stronger for the entire year.
It’s not just about January, it’s about February, Dirty Dozen/ May, St Croix, 70.3/ July, Breck 68, and August LT100.
As with Life it’s always about the Big Picture:
