Cleaning the Ol’ Pipes
There’s this great book, “Organizing from the Inside Out”.
Well, a week ago, I decided I needed to clean from the Inside Out.
It’s been a slow process to get motivated to do it because it scares me.
Plan A. Vegetable Protein.
Yuck.
Ew.
Plan B. Juicing
Plan C. Fast
So, I am currently on Plan A, I have been for 10 days.
I have dropped 4 pounds of fat, don’t think, any muscle.
And switched 2 cups of coffee for Green Tea.
How’s it been going?
Well, let’s see, my 1st epic ride, I was hallucinating. That can’t be good. I had some electrolytes, realizing I may actually be a little hyponatremic, and well, more icky plant food. JK by the way.
So I am eating some animal protein.
I am still eating my 4 eggs in the morning.
Let’s see the 1st time I had ice cream after a week of being ‘sober’ I had so much mucous running down my throat I was hacking a lung out at night that kept me up for an hour.
Then, when I rode on Sunday I had the cold chills for an hour after my ride. This may have had something to do the losing 4 pounds of visceral fat, I thought I was amply dressed for 50 degrees; my favorite temperature, but the moisture, may have fooled me.
I had about a cup of lean grass fed ground beef last week.
And this week, I had about 4 ounces of grass fed filet.
Last night, I had 4 ounces of salmon.
But most of my meals have looked like this:
Breakfast:
4 eggs
4 cups fruit.
Snack: 1 cup almonds/Cashews, right now the raw variety
Lunch:
1/2 cup Quinoa
1/4 cup Lentils
2 TBSP Hummus
and 2 servings of vegetables.
Dinner much of the same as lunch,
and trying to avoid the cocoa because that is cured with fungus apparently.
I just logged my calories, and I am already at 2000 and I have not eaten afternoon snack or dinner yet. I’m at 80g of protein, and more carbs then I am used to.
I’m trying to perfect my health.
As healthy as I am, my health isn’t necessarily as good as it should be. Some of that is the Celiac’s disease, and some of it is the Sulfur allergy.
So I am running another science experiment on cleaning out the ol’ pipes and see if that helps.
I am running Plan A for the rest of the week.
I did end up fueling for my Epic Ride a little differently. The way I usually do, my rides during lunch, with some sort of animal protein.
I brought some filet. I did not want to hallucinate, or shake from starvation.
It served me very well.
My Quarq died, but my effort remained constant for 5 hours.
I had 2 very nice sit down breaks. One lunch and half of an espresso, and one snack, and the rest of my espresso.
I did have to go by HR on the last 3 hours, but I think, I did a pretty damn good job.
3500 feet in climbing and some change.
It was a good ride.
I can’t wait for next week!!
