A Weekend at Home

A weekend at home, but not as quite and relaxing as I would hope for.  More like craziness.  But I think, crazy is the Nance middle name.  We got through Friday unscathed by total craziness.  I did go a little stir crazy albeit, being home, not working, not exercising, my little monkey and I had a grand time.  Early to bed, late to rise, is my tune.  It was awesome.  I worked my BUTT off Friday.  I finally got our bedroom re-arranged, LO-OVE it!!  And I am so happy the bed frame broke when I moved it so our super sized mattress is on the floor, and it doesn’t squeak, and it’s so cozy here, I love it!!  I have been sleeping so much better than I ever did when our bed was on the other location.  Saturday I went for a run.  It really hasn’t been a long time since I have run.  My last run was like an hour off road on tough terrain.  It was about 2 weeks ago.  Not more.  So I ran my 3.5 mile loop.  It’s generally a tempo run for me.  I started my stop watch.  I didn’t know I thought it would be 10 minute miles at how I was feeling.  But turned out sub 9 minute miles in recovery, I’ll take it.

My knee still hurts from Comfort.  Every step I make my left knee aches.  It had been feeling better, well, until I ran.  HA!  It was nice running around the neighborhood again.  I had my 5 k racers on.  I felt like putting something more one would allow me to compensate more.  I am sore.  Yesterday I ended up taking my little monkey to the DR, the fever seemed to go away but it’s throat was still sore.  It did NOT look good in there to me.  So I went to the Clinic and sure enough, strep.  My friend told me about the clinic’s inside CVS so we went there.  That is the bomb!  I knew the PA there and everything from Irving Swimmers.  I am hoping and praying she calls me so we can hook her daughter up strong and back in the pool!  70 bucks and just a few minutes.

I attempted to go to Center of Spiritual Living today.  Got to Lewisville, 20 minutes later than I wanted to be and got a phone call, my killer crazy Molly and brown kiebasa Mojo had busted free.  I wouldn’t worry so much about Mojo he won’t affix his jaws on a tire going 50 miles per hour.  Nor would he affix his jaws on the back of the calf of an innocent bystander.

Today Sunday, I went out on the bike.  I had a babysitter, or a zoo keeper sit with the monkeys.  I have been a little rough around the edges since I got back from Comfort.  I think, my one ride with my old man, knollie and our friend from NM may have sent me over the edge.  It was cold, sub 40 windchill, there was no rain on the radar when I checked but sure enough when I went out it started.  I hadn’t planned for much over an hour, I thought if I felt really good I may do 1.5 hours.  My hands were cold by the time I got 2 miles away.  My thumb was near frost bite.  More craziness.  I did have a good ride, felt good.  Thought, hey how about a swim tomorrow.

So total craziness to month; 1 105 degree fever, one destroyed door, one puddle of pee on the floor, one husband being mean about laundry and then calling me for a laundry favor…hmm, and mmm, one blueberry pie.

Last month: 26 hours of racing

50 hours of driving…

Call the loony bin, I’m on my way :o)
