2015 ===> 2016

Happy New Year!

As with every day, every new year, I wish the best for you always.

My last 2 trips scheduled to Texas have been tanked.

Storms, and closed trails.  C’est la vie.

Up in the foothills the week leading into the  new year Oh Great Exercise came and spoke to me,

“You must go sit on the beach New Years Eve”

OK, Deal.  Let’s see what this adventure brings.

2016 Epic Adventure Awaits

I met a friend last Leadville, on Columbine Climb.  Who our last trip to  LA said, “next time bring your bike”.

OK, Deal.

All I knew is I wanted to ride long,  I wanted to ride warm, and I wanted to sit on the beach New Years Eve, and I had to, just had to, kick the ass of the Hollywood Sign.

So off I went.

I got in Wednesday Night.  I had found a different link to the Hollywood sign, and I was destined and determined to make it to the sign.  You know how it is, you try something, at first you don’t succeed, and you have to come back and kick it’s ass?!?  Well,

Totally Gratifying.  Now off to the beach.

2016 SoCal5Now I have no idea what the Universe has planned for me going into it.  I thought I was supposed to sit on the beach, soak up some rays, and journal, meditating on the year past and the year to come.

I ran into some technical difficulty on the way to the beach, as I noticed I was very close to the Chevron Oil Refinery, this wracked havoc on my system my entire week, and especially Beach Day.  So I continued down to the beach, passing the loading facility, the Power Plant, and the Water Treatment Plant.  All the usual suspects were on hand: black spots in my vision, dizziness, cognitive processes, not being able to feel my feet.  I was determined to get to the beach.  I made a right and continued North.  The plan was to drive until the symptoms almost dissipated.  I wasn’t going to go to 100%, I wanted warm sun.  So I pulled off.

I say I was about 80-85%.  As I approached the beach I noticed there was some black sludge that had been exposed.  I took one look and said ‘oil, oh well’.  Laid out my quilt and laid down.

2016 So Cal Black Sludge

I knew exactly what I was doing.  I knew exactly what was there.  I had the local toxicometer going off like I should get the heck out of dodge.  I was OK, and this kind of stuff, well, like all things, it will pass.

I had, who I will call, the Mad Hatter approach me., ‘ I wouldn’t be lying on this beach it is filled with toxic sledge.’

I was thinking to myself, ‘well, yea, there’s a refinery, an oil barge loading facility, a power plant and a water treatment plant all located within 4 blocks of here.  My toxicometer is not reading as high as it was 2 blocks ago.’  I was also thinking, ‘I’m not sure if at this beach, the toxic sludge is the thing I would be worrying about.’

I ended up meeting 2 totally different suspects of the same cause.  And it was beautiful.  Fighting the city on the same thing, making the beach safe again.

I told them my history, my illness, and all about the contrails; aka, Chemtrails.  Bill Gates, GMO’s and Sulfur Dioxide.  That’s probably more of what we need to be worried about.  Maintaining the ability to grow food naturally versus what Bill Gates has in store for us.  More on the Chemtrails later.

So it wasn’t my job to reflect on 2015 and 2016.  It was my job to meet two really cool cats, who enjoy saving the environment.  Amazing how things unfold sometimes.

The best part is always about the bike ride.

Don’t worry, I didn’t actually get a warrant, we just rode  a lot of ‘illegal stuff’ and we were joking the whole ride about the potential.

My new friend, who I actually knew in a round about way, met me at the hotel; we rode out, down the beach and over to “The Hill”.  It was a good hill.  I loved the hill.  I especially loved the part of the hill that was illegal horse trail, through a gated community.  The hill that got so steep as I barreled down to make the crest, I put so much weight into my saddle I knocked it loose and up.  4 stops later…hehe.

There were quite a few places I had to stop and take photos.  Just randomly.  It was awesome of awesomeness.

I met another friend too, Mayor.  The Mayor of his domain, Mr One Hit Wonder.  He was cool too!

Headed back, skill one handed riding while taking pics and posting to Instagram. Really hate to say good bye to this awesome weather, and company!

4 hours and 4k in climbing, a good day.

The whole experience left me with a taste in my mouth.  A taste of making SoCal part of my region:  Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, Oklahoma, and SoCal.

2015 was an awesome year.  2016 is going to be even a more awesome year.

I’m so grateful for all of the Zoefitness sponsors that are already committed.  This year is going to be EPIC and I’m so grateful for the continued support of:
